I was quite puzzled as to why FFTL was going on AFTER The Bled. The obviously exhausted crowd seemed to split off into different directions as FFTL took hold of the stage Sure, there were more than a few loyal fans who made an appearance, but it wasn't as intense as the bands before them. I sang along to a few songs, moved along to the beats, and had a decent time. Overall, it was okay. Not one of their better performances, but it proved to be quite enjoyable.
This was one of THE BEST shows I've attended. The Bled being my main reason to jump into the Take Action! Tour, I was more than satisfied as James sang the last lyrics to Porcelain Hearts and Hammers For Teeth. The amount of energy this band can put into a crowd is incredible. With Mike banging away on drums, Jeremy and Ross doing their thang on guitar, Darren's hair swinging around wildly as he played bass.. and James in the crowd, sticking the mic in several faces, allowing the fans to get up close and personal- it was a definite recipe for success. I was accompanied by absolutely nobody for this show, but nevertheless had the time of my life.
The Key Club brings back a flood of awesome memories. Blessthefall being one of them:]
They know how to put on an amazing show and they do it with ease. I instantly went on a journey to find their latest CD and claim it as my own. It was just that great:]
Projekt Revolution took hold of every last penny that was given to me on my birthday. Not being too familiar with any of the bands playing the Revolution Stage, I took my chances and headed forth towards the stage where I found a crowd of people standing around a good foot or two away from each other. This lasted until THE BLED made an appearance. Singing along was out of the question, but I immediately began headbanging and waving my arms up high, reaching for James' curls. This set made me fall in love with the band and they're just as incredible live as they are on disk. I felt way more than satisfactory by the end and only wished I had heard of them beforehand.
It was dark by the time Bad Religion's set ended. I remember them walking off stage and finding myself still in the massive crowd. My greatest accomplishment that day was making it all the way to barricade where I had an extraordinary view. Sure, there was a terrible lack of elbow room, but it was all worth it. The set was great. I proudly walked off the grounds of the Pomona Fairplex in a sticky sweaty mess that only Bad Religion could bring:]
