Once Again Back It’s The Incredible
well hello there! vacation is now officially over and we are back to work. today we headed into the studio to start recording a new cover track that you will be hearing about in the near future. the only hint i can give at this point is “guten tag.” we finished the two main guitar tracks right and left, and the lead guitar as well. tomorrow i’m going to lay down some sweet bass and sing the lead vocals. shane also wrote this cool guitar overdub that i hope we can get to tomorrow. here are some pictures i took while we were recording. notice the photos are in black and white. this color choice indicates that i am to be taken as a serious artist. that’s right. i’m awesome.
then in the afternoon we all headed over to start rehearsing for the tour we are about to leave on in a couple of weeks. the honda civic tour. featuring fall out boy, +44, paul wall (the people’s champ), the academy is, and cobra starship. check local listings. let’s see…the honda civic tour…where have i heard of this before? oh yeah that’s right. maybe i remember it because BLINK-182 WAS THE FIRST BAND EVER ON THE HONDA CIVIC TOUR! that’s right. we started this thing. and now we’re back with +44. and we’re stoked. so we began rehearsing today. it was our first rehearsal with travis since before we left to tour europe in january, and it felt great to have him back and behind the kit and playing with both arms. to be honest, it felt like home. we ran through the songs that we’re playing at the rock corps show this friday right here in the beautiful city of angels. volunteer your time and come check out the show! we went through the set twice and then stopped to eat lunch from poquito mas before running through the songs a third time. i love poquito mas. but please don’t let me eat a huge bean rice and cheese burrito right before trying to sing a bunch of songs again. there should be a rule about eating and singing, along the same lines as waiting 20 minutes after you eat before swimming. the wind is crazy in los angeles right now and the power kept shutting off and on, so we played the songs a third time and called it a day. it was really fun and we’re all excited about getting ready for these shows.Â
p.s. i still have a post about the last week of the tour in japan on the way, i am just lazy. deal with it.
