  31. solexhn Says:

I loved how that gut talked about blink! I started listening to blink with Enema of The State(I was 9 years old). My brother had it. I didn’t know what kind of music it would be. I got curious because of the album cover. So I opened the cd case and found a compilation CD. I listened to it and it had songs from system of a down, korn, puddle of mudd…Other bands my old brother was into. So I said: “Wow!, this guys play just like the original bands. So the first idea I had of you (while checking the cd booklet out), was that you were some kind of imitators. Later on I asked my brother about you, and he gave me the original CD. I listened to you guys and I fell in love with poop(XD) punk! (Blink’s basically)
I listened to you 24/7! and when Take off your pants and jacket came, I totally went crazy!
Your music is my inspiration. I play Bass in a Band. (wish I had yours Mark(Fender PB)….
    Anyways, thanks for coming back!

  37. Nick Says:

definitely… everyone is waiting on this cd and they have been for the last four years. even if people say they can’t stand blink-182, this cd will be played in their car at least 3 or 4 times because people are curious about this movement that was started in 1992

  38. CATH Says:

Wow, that was a very interesting read. Seems like most ‘music lovers’ have been inspired by blink in some way in their lives. It’s awesome coming onto this site, and actually seeing new blogs, it’s filled a page in a day. Your really on top form these days Mark!

  39. Whiz Says:

  40. GuiltyDragon Says:

HAHAHAHAH! “Boner Jams!” Mark, dude, you HAVE to call the new album this. Really. At least make it the working title. (Personally I was disapointed when you dropped the “Use Your Erection” title.)

  47. Fred Yates Says:

I cannot wait to see as many live shows as possible. Damnit must be played at one of them! (anywhere in the northeast or a st louis show i’ll be at)

  48. Steve Jackson Says:

Mark, Tom and Travis have been my hero’s since I was just a young lad of about 11. I still remember having to sneak listen to them so that my mom wouldn’t take them away. And as i grew, so did the band….And then I created my own band because of blink-182 and only blink. This band was tight as hell for 6 years, and just in the last 4 weeks, it’s all fallen apart. But my band helped me through the years blink were gone for…and now, I’m so happy that my hero’s are back, that I cannot even feel any grief over the fall apart of my band because the Euphoria that is bursting inside me just seeing Mark smiling and so happy, seeing Travis not saying …Tom DeLonge ” Ya, Fuck That Guy” ….is amazing. I can only imagine whats going through your guys minds, and I’m for one…SOOOO happy for you Mark, you deserve this, and Travis, you deserve this the most. You’ve had a couple terribly hard years, and I think it’s honestly time that things took a turn for the better for you.

We all know that wether or not people will addmitt it, they have just about every word to All The Small Things, Whats My Age Again, Adams Song, The Rock Show, First Date …etc in our heads….And I believe that it’s songs like this that kept the youth happy and positive. If you look at the way music went after the towers fell in 2001 along with everything else in the world….it went dark, scary, and negitive…and actually, so did blink-182. But now they’re back…Back with a new light, back to entertain our ears and spread a smile on all our faces once more. And I for one, havn’t been this happy, this excited, this…unable to truely express how I feel in a very very very very very long time….I think the last time I was even a little bit as excited as I am now would have been the day Self Titled was released. And I know that blink gets a billion comments saying that they’re life changers for some random kids…and that they’re hero’s of these random kids….but it’s true. You guys changed and touched the lives of so many people in this world that when you left, it took a piece of all of us with you. I couldn’t even listen to blink for a while cause it made me too sad. My old Rhythm guitarist used to sit on youtube and watch video’s and make himself cry and get worked up cause he missed you so much. There is no doubt in my mind, that blink being back…is going to change the world, and kids that are just growing up now that are young, are going to be like…there’s this new band called blink-182…THEY’RE AMAZING, you should check em out. And we’ll just hold up Cheshire Cat with a smile on our faces and say…. ” I pass this onto you “……Because thats what blink was meant to be. The outlet for all emotions good and bad, the pedistal that holds the kids high, and the medicine for the generations past, and yet to come…..it’s not about wether they’re a “pop punk” act….and it’s not about wether or not they “sold out” along the way … It’s about what they’ve done for us, just by being friends….and I’m so happy that the friendship was able to be sewn back together….I sat on the edge of my bed when I heard Travis went down in flames, and I’ll addmitt I shed tears, and I don’t believe in religion or anything like that, and I prayed for him and his family…because I personally… Need blink-182, wether or not they were ever going to be friends again…I just needed to know they were alive and well, cause I for one…..Never gave up the sliver of hope…that the band that changed the world once already….would one day come back to us once more with the style and grace of center stage.

Thank you for coming home guys. I’m so happy that you’re all friends again, and I hope the bond continues to strengthen and fuse more and more over time. This is big, I’ve been asking for this in my head constantly for years….and now it’s here.
We all have faith in you, we all love you, and we all cannot believe that you have returned.
    The Ledgends Live On.

    Steve Jackson

  55. Macbeth Says:

Yeah I completely agree with James, there’s nothing negative about it. XD
I completely freaked out when I saw the Grammy Awards on Monday morning ( 4 a.m. in Austria = 8 p.m in America). I really hope that this will last forever.

    Greetings from Austria

  56. Tom Lee Says:

  58. Aleks Says:

uhm… I guess it’ll surely be as you said!

  59. el_matzito Says:

    really nice article!
I just can agree to his opinion!
Let’s make something positive Mr Hoppus, Mr Delonge, Mr Barker…

and P.S. come back to Munich, Germany

  60. Tak Says:

You see, Mr Hoppus, i agree with what the so called cynical journalist is saying. You guys did change the world, and are fiddling with our emotions, in a good way of course.
Its kind of amazing how Blink was able to not only “pleasure the ears of” 12 year old screaming girls that have just started discovering what proper music is like…(*cough* Johannas Brothers, or however you spell them)..but also Uni guys, middle age, or even at the age of 72, like that link you gave us to the guy who still listens to blink at that age…
One thing that astounded me the most was the fact that journalists can actually contact you, and chat to you, and if i were to become any sort of celebrity, i will definately do anything to contact you guys. And by all means not as a freakish fan that devoted his life into meeting his favourite rock band, but as one that has an utmost respect for people who were able to change and affect the lives of millions.
Mr Hoppus, Mr Delonge, Mr Barker, it might be in a decade or two, but i will meet you, so prepare for an intellectual conversation with peaks of immature comments
So, until then..actually its futile to tell you to make good music, you have kind of proved that part very right indeed…well untill then, rock on!
    ciao for now,
    tak

  61. clinton Says:

its definately changed my world. I have been sitting here, 32 years old with Blink posters all over the wall, Proclaiming that “it will happen” to everyone I know. Sticking up for you guys at every turn. I never stopped believing. I bought +44, I joined Modlife, but in the back of my mind, all I wanted was to see you guys together again. I am so stoked that you are doing it and I dont have to carry a dead Torch anymore. It is a dream of mine to hear “Voyeur” live. I understand if its too old for you guys to play, But it is a dream of mine. I never got to see you guys play the first time around. Love and endless support to you, can wait to get out to some shows!!

  62. Reckless-182 Says:

  65. T Day Says:

I actually really enjoyed that article, and I pretty much feel the same way as him.

  66. Trevor Tillman Says:

Seriously, for anyone who’s a fan and was seriously affected by the “indefinite hiatus,” this is like The Beatles getting back together.

Blink will change the world. It’s the best thing since Obama winning.

  67. Ghiwa182 Says:

  75. RARARAR Says:

  76. Brian K Says:

  78. oli Says:

hey mark, i have a questions:
there are now 6 arrows on the blink-logo, before the “hiatus” there were just 5. Should the 6st arrow mean something?
and somewhere i’ve read an article about a new “american pie” movie with the old cast. maybe we will see blink too

  79. Svante! Says:

You changed my world once, lets see if you can do it twice ;) Your reunion is really an awesome thing though that will be remembered forever I think!

  82. nathan Says:

i know exactly what he’s talking about when he “was overcome with a wave of positivity, of unbridled excitement.” I just felt this feeling of euphoria. i even teared up a little. weird, i know, but now i can be 100 percent happy again

  83. Tyler Meyer Says:

Can I get a hellz yes?

  84. Liliane Says:

  85. Ryan Says:

  86. Carter Says:

    forever and ever!!
    what happend to +44

  87. martinschmit Says:

    definitely will change the world.

  88. Glenn J Says:

The blink reunion has already changed my world.

  89. djdontcare Says:

to answer the question: of course it will.

  90. Julia Says:

It will most definitely change the world.

    That guy is smart.

  91. Liz Says:

“I distanced myself from them, because Blink-182 were a stupid pop-punk act.” What a prick!

  92. Liz Says:

You and Green Day have changed my life for the better. I literally tore down all my britney and nsync posters after getting into these bands. I became a blink fan at the age of 13, and 11 years later never looked back once…and haven’t lost interest either.

I feel you’re giving kids a great message of being individuals and thinking for themselves. The very reasons I became a fan! So yes, Mr. Journalist, Blink will change the world!

  93. Leah Muz182 Says:

Fuck me, reading that just made me think again about how I can’t wait until the new album comes out. Thinking about how I will actually get to see you guys in concert before I die is one of the most incredible things possible. I hope Satan comes back…

  94. william Says:

well, that was a good story (:
    and not pushing the matter…
but you know what would be really nice right now? (yes, besides a blowjob from you mom)
videos of you in the studio… like the ones i believe chettah did back in 03′
it would be really nice to see how you all are working out togather in the studio… and by the monitor station im AM guessing your all in one studio??? right??? it be nice to answer this… but i understand you dont read all the comments… but it’d be nice (:

    thanks :D

  95. TJ Brady Says:

This article is really special. Seriously. This music reporter’s life has been turned around because of your reunion. An uptight music journalist has completely changed his ways by a so called “stupid pop punk band.” Though, all the people that say blink are a “stupid pop punk band” dont know what theyre talking about. Theres deep messages in your music that really relates to me. Whenever i listen to blink, it gives me this great happy feeling. I can be in THEE WORST MOOD and put in some Dude Ranch and then feel totally fine. I shouldnt only single out Dude Ranch, because i listen to all the albums, but Dude Ranch has really been at the top of my playlist lately.

Everyday when i drive to high school, i listen to your music. And i never ONCE get sick of it.

  96. Jen Says:

I agree with him… lets make this last forever & ever

  97. Travis I'm Pregnant Says:

Mark I am so excited for the reunion. IDK if you have thought about it but looking at the interesting demographic chart of your fans around the country it looks like Boise, Idaho has the most fans so you guys have drop by. You’ll have the sickest time here in the knitting factory…just ask Tom….there’s always the Idaho Center too.. if you don’t like the name Knitting factory concert house :]

  98. Nicole182 Says:

    Mark,

Just one request: please, please throw in a mention of Josie in one of the new songs. I want to know what ever became of her. I liked the saga, and I loved how you brought her up again in Online Songs; I thought it was really cute–even though it sounds like things went sour. Still, “Josie” is my favorite Blink song. Would love to hear from her again…….

Oh man, and then you could ask Alyssa Milano to do a little cameo in your vid…considering she still looks the same!

    Oh, please….!!

  99. Adrence Says:

Cant read the it because my damn college banned it. Fuck!!! But ths reunion will change the world again. If nobody believe in tht wht else?

  100. Matias Says:

OF COURSE IT WILL CHANGE THE WORLD!
BLINK IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD
COME TO CHILE GUYS PLEASE IT WOULD BE AWESOME :D :D :D

  101. ekky_44 Says:

OF COURSE IT WILL CHANGE THE WORLD…HEY MARK,,BRING TRAVIS AND TOM COME TO INDONESIA PLIZZZZ..TOM HAVE BEEN TO INDONESIA EARLIER..AND HE KNOWS EXACTLY THAT THE INDONESIAN CROWDS ARE THE BEST CROWDS EVER..U HAVE SO MANY FANS HERE..PLIZ COME..

  102. john Says:

will they change the world? honestly at this point Blink-182 is more closer to changing the world than politicians, seriously they dont know shit! the answer to our economic aboution isnt another bailout, its always been the release of another Blink-182 album. everyone in the world will buy the record and no one woul dare download it. if there was a jesus, this is like the second coming of him, Blink-182 is bigger than jesus to say the least…

  103. Nick Says:

I got into blink 1st in the beginning of last year, being 16 now, i wasnt really around for any of your earlier stuff, but you guys grew to be one of my all-time favorites. i picked up bass guitar early that year as well and you quickly became my #1 bass idol. what you’ve accomplished musically is what i strive for with my band, and ill always hold you guys with the highest respect. good luck with the new reccord, and if i could offer some advice, try not to make it TOO epic. more down to earth like the earlier stuff. haha i dont know if you actually read these things but thanx if you did

  104. Trupiper Says:

    BONER JAMS ALL THE WAY!!!!!

  105. UV Says:

it will change the world.. especially if blink 182 will come to israel!!!!

  106. Anton Hillblom Says:

blink-182 changed my life, of course the reunion can change the world :)

  107. Adrence Says:

Just Done reading it today bcoz of my tight schedule. Whew… If this doesnt change the world what else… Blink will rules again and will change the world again!!! Great article though. Blink is part of me and I’d been enjoying blink music since i was in junior school and it did change me and help me get through my days and years before I came to be the man I am now. Your music and ideas means a lot to me. Without you guys none of ths will happened. You guys really change my life so I believe ths reunion can change the whole world again.

  108. Yago Says:
