This Saturday, I’ll be on the MTV show “Made,” giving someone tips on playing the bass for their band’s upcoming battle of the bands competition. Given the fact that I taught myself how to play the instrument, and have terrible technique, I’m not sure that I helped the situation any, and if for some reason their band loses, the blame can be placed squarely on my shoulders. Anyway, tune in to cheer them on and watch the triumph or defeat.

I’ve also taught myself how to play bass, and you can definitely hear some Mark Hoppus on my bass playing style and sound, and I’ve been doing pretty well… Martin Carrizo, drummer for A.N.I.M.A.L, Gustavo Cerati and many other bands, and one of the best drummers in latin america, completely loved my bass sound and technique when we started recording my bands cd, with him as a producer. So, THANK YOU!
Make sure those kids get to pluck the correct strings with passion and wear wristbands to be more confortable :]

mark i bought ur sig bass which had been signed by you thinking i would automatically become the next mark hoppus. but i suck. maybe ur crappy bass techniques rubbed off onto me. im trying to teach myself but it doesnt work
. maybe the only way i can make it to mtv is by making fart jokes and running around naked…although i dont think anyone wants to watch me do that.
jokes..ur a great musician. u get the job done with the bass, but i truly admire ur songwriting skills and ur a good singer. far better than tom (well who isnt…).
so hows teh +44 record going. im sure it will be great..i think travis is gonna do the best album of his life. i dont mind sad/emotional songs but please dont start wearing the cliche tight pants, black eyeliner and emo hair cuts because im sure back in the day, blink as a group wouldve taken the piss out of such people

Awesome. That was definitely one of the best days of that girl’s life. She did seem nervous, but that’s totally understandable in a situation where she’s meeting her idol at Guitar Center. Like you Mark, my son Luke has self taught himself the bass. You were so great on Made… as soon as Luke finished watching, he did what he does every day. Hi mark this is vince I’m from Argentina.. The point of this comments it’s not to tell you that you should reunite with blink at all don’t worry haha, my point is that you should come and make a show down here.. I know that is not easy because you’ve never played here before and you don’t really know if this country will give a lot of fans.. but you know what, on 2005 or 2006 Robbie Williams (I’m not a fan of him by the way) came here and make a private show for a couple of hundreads to see how would it be to make a big show on this unknown country, and after he did that he realized that there were a lot of fans williing to join to a big concert (not me anyway) and he made 2 or 3 concerts and there were around 110,000 fans between the shows.
I know that the odds of you reading this are astronomical, and I also know that this country has a lot of fans and if you could only think about it ,it will mean a lot to me and to all the fans.

All of this is great news and everything. You are awesome and so are the rest of your band members. I have been waiting and waiting for +44’s new album to come out and there has been no information provided about it whatsoever. I’m dying here man! When is the new album coming out? You have been doing so many things for so many other people, which is awesome, but what about your own band? What happened to +44?
Please let your fans know what the album will be released. At least give us a single.
I loved your last album, don’t get me wrong, but listening to it over and over again tends to drive me a little crazy. I need this new album! So do the rest of your fans!

I also wanted to say when you, Tom and Travis all played together in Blink 182 you guys touched my heart. I saw that u did an interview with MTV about blink-182 past present and future and it gave me hope
I know that u intended to wake everybody up by starting this rumor and it would break millions of peoples hearts if blink doesn’t reform.
In the interview u said u doesn’t think this many people would be interested but y’all left when you were the best rock band in the world you had to know millions of people have been dreaming about this rumor for 3 to 4 years.

On the Saturday that the MTV Made premiered with you in it, I was sledding with some friends and ran all the way home to watch it. You were in for about one or two minutes but it was definitely worth it! I love +44 and when I get out of high school;I’m moving to California and coming to meet you. As well as Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker. Although I think Tom has taken a completely different path. Blink-182 Forever.
BTW-It would mean the world if you came to Chicago, Illinois. I know you have before with Blink but I was too young. Are you and Blink getting back together or not? Consider it.

guys it could be a good thing that mark is going solo. heres why.
1. he still has travis drum on most of his tracks, but travis wont tour with him.
2. Craig and Shane are good at guitar, but they dont play Blink 182 type styles. So Mark, even though he plays bass, knows how to make Blink 182 type riffs on guitar since he was right next to tom when he was making them.
3. Maybe an appearance from Tom at one of Mark’s live shows since they are talking a lot of again, which would pretty much equal a Blink 182 show cause if tom would have a guest appearence on one of Marks shows then they would definitely play one of their old blink songs.

I saw the last show Blink played together in Detroit, two days after my father passed away. He gave me the tickets for my 16th birthday and then died suddenly a few weeks later. I grew up on you guys and seriously, out of the (probably) hundreds of artists i listen to, none compare. Even if you guys come back with one reunion song, i can die happy.
