wow it’s been a while. just got home from a week of vacation in st thomas. i had to go out and get a good tan (meaning “heat rash”) in between recording the koopa record last month and the new found glory record next month. i know that many of you are anxious to hear about what’s up in +44 world, and we are still in pre-production. although i have half a mind to post one of the demos up here one of these days. i wonder if the label would sue me if i did? can they do that? probably, right? anyway, instead of a demo, i will post a photo i took of a fish while i was on vacation. that’s right. i took this picture. i am the new jacques cousteau. i need one of those orange beanies…
by the way, our old friend jon kalter was IM’ing me yesterday and saying that he has a few great stories to tell, so i think we’re going to call and record his stories and put them out in podcast form. they better be good, jon. people can’t have any half-assed podcasts, you know. your stories better be up the high journalistic integrity of all the previous hiynameismark podcasts. the pressure is on, now dazzle us.
finally, i’m doing the voice of an elephant in a new animated show that is being created right now. a lot of cool, creative people and musicians are involved. it is still in it’s early days, but we’ve teamed up with our friends who produce robot chicken and will be taking it to networks in the next few months. i don’t know what i am allowed to tell you about the show right yet, but my character is an elephant, and the show is rude enough to probably only be allowed on adult swim or hbo. awesome.

I just went to St. Thomas in February. It was great and I went snorkeling and tried to take some pictures of fish underwater, but the film got messed up going through airport security.
I also got extremely badly burned by the sun.

In terms of marketing, it would be tantamount to professional suicide if the record label didn’t let you release a demo to your most dedicated of fans. It has already been a long time in the making, and while releasing a demo here would do little more than to whet the appetite of a selection of already hungry fans, it would boost the anticipation of the record by miles.
Plus, it would make me pretty happy.

It’s been a while I’ve been wondering why do you keep on producing great bands ( NFG yay!!) while you have to wait to get the money for your own recordings with +44. Couldn’t you produce it yourself?? You have enough talent and experience!! Also I hope that since +44 is not as big as your previous band you might want to accept to play in smaller venues and come to Spain for a change!!

+44 is crap, just sush about it and give +44, find out tom’s email address or something, kiss and make up cause your old friends and get Blink 182 back together, as amazing as Angels and Airwaves were to see live, I still say the Punk-Pop era is a era we all miss and want back but have nothing to hang onto. These epic and side projects you lot have created are no where near B182, so lets get the ball rolling again, keep are differences aside and get back to producing quality music from the Enema era and before

by the way, i live in italy, and it’d be great if sometime you’d do a concert overhere, its stinkin full of bands concerting, but none that quite impress me as +44..!

Just though I would point out your overzealous use of apostrophes.
In the sentence “it is still in it’s early days”, you eagerly use a possessive apostrophe in the word “its”, where instead, in a world of perfect punctuation, this word is one of the few exceptions to the rule.
I am, however, much happier to see the apostrophe being overused than underused. I fear that it is getting to a point where the apostrophe is becoming extinct, replaced by a plethora of “text-speak”. I’m not going to lie, Mark, it scares me.
For this cause, I am proposing a course of action which could save the apostrophe from certain death. I will get a tattoo of an apostrophe, in 12pt Times New Roman font, on my arm within the month. This way, I can tell people that I have a tattoo, so it’s a bit of a double edged sword. If you are reading this, I urge you to do the same.
Let’s save the apostrophe!
