How Can I Feel Alive When I’m Scared To Death Of Dying?

February 20th, 2008

last week i had all time low in the studio. they are working on songs for their new album and asked if i would be interested in co-writing with them. co-writing is always an awkward experience at first. hey, how about you get into a studio with a bunch of people you’ve never met before and see what happens? so i had the basic outline of a song and alex came in and listened to it, liked it, and we got to work. alex, jack, chris holmes, and i grinded away at it, and three days later we walked out of the studio with what i think is a really great song. very upbeat and very catchy. i can’t wait for it to be released. more info as it becomes available.

blink-182 Always Video In Legos

February 20th, 2008

obviously this video has been up on youtube for a couple of months, but i just found out about it today. i don’t know who did this remake of the “always” video shot-for-shot with legos, but it’s genius. it has been a few months since i’ve listened to this song, and hearing it today reminds me of recording it at conway studios in the summer of 2003, sitting in the courtyard eating turkey sandwiches from the larchmont wine and cheese shop, and talking about the album artwork and the new smiley face logo. good times. enjoy the video.

yeah, i know football season has ended and the super bowl has been played and everyone has moved on to whatever the next exciting sports talk is going to be. but last month, during the playoffs, our managers got into an argument over which was the superior football club. paul rosenberg (mr bigtime himself), supports the detroit lions. meanwhile, mr lawrence vavra (the man in charge of organizing dj am’s shoe collection) backs the raider nation. words were exchanged. a bet was made. the two teams met on the gridiron battlefield, and the lions from detroit roared in victory. so larry, the sad loser of the wager, had to decorate his car with words proclaiming his love for the hometown team from motor city. right about now you should be asking yourself “how does dj am’s assistant afford to drive a bmw 750?” the world will never know…
