we got a lot done in the studio yesterday. shane and craig both recorded more of the 175 guitar leads in the song we are doing. there was some serious guitar shredding happening in our studio. not full-on dragonforce style, but some hot solo’ing nonetheless. travis laid down the drums, and i sang the leads and doubled the choruses. now the track is nearly finished. we have to turn the song in on monday, so we’ll go back in the studio first thing next week, finish the guitars, sing some harmonies, mix, and master the song, and then turn it in late on tuesday, saying “oh, for real? it was due yesterday? ah man, we thought you said wednesday.”

yesterday in the studio, little chris and james showed up to discover they were wearing the exact same thing. why didn’t i get the memo?

yesterday we began an auction of a very limited edition +44 ipod dock made by logitech to benefit the leatherback trust, which works to save endangered leatherback turtles. although the auction lists the ipod dock as only being shipped in the united states, logitech has offered to ship the dock for free to the winning bidder anywhere in the world.

today we went back into the studio to start recording a song for a tribute album that comes out next month. i finished the bass, and shane and craig put down most of the guitar parts. tomorrow travis is going to record the drums and i’m going to try and get well into the vocals.

the winner of the great turtle race has been declared. and despite being in first place for a few days, windy is currently in 9th place. i mean, at this point she is only ahead of the two turtles who decided to give up and bought houses on the coast of costa rica. but hey, she still has time to bring on the hustle and hopefully finish 8th! congratulations to billie, who came in 1st place, a full 21 miles ahead of the competition.
