Motion City Soundtrack’s new album “My Dinosaur Life” is headed for release very soon. January 19th, 2010 to be exact, which means it’ll probably be the HAVE TO HAVE gift for groundhog’s day. The band is ramping up the machine, releasing behind-the-scenes videos, and apparently doing a surprise tour of emergency rooms around the country. They recorded an amazing album, and I can’t wait for everyone to get a chance to check it out. You can follow the band on the twitter box at @motioncitymusic. Currently, Justin is driving around the country in a van, stopping to play pop-up shows wherever and whenever the urge strikes. To get in on that, check out the website mydinosaurlife.com, and follow justin on the tweeter vcr at @jcpmcs. Now, here’s a studio transmission highlighting the reason this record is going to rule so hard: my involvement as a producer. HA! In all seriousness, though, if you really want to annoy the band, ask them their least-favorite question: “What’s it like to work with mark hoppus?”
I just started a new weekly feature over at spin.com called “Hopp on Pop.” Every Wednesday it will highlight a new band or artist to check out. This week’s pick: Japandroids. You can check out the feature here. I hope you enjoy it and discover some cool new music!
