Bio:
Turn back the clock to Spring 2007. Nicholas "Intern" Rodriguez, who was at the time playing drums for Baton Rouge local act Evangelina, mentioned interest to Joshua McLin in starting a side project/science experiment with a completely different sound. McLin was the frontman of Evangelina at this time. The project was called CAMP HERO and a few jam sessions occured with Rodriguez on drums and McLin on bass. They invited a few friends from the local music scene to play with them and progress was pleasing to both members, however, more focus was dedicated to Evangelina due to hectic touring schedules and not enough time to work on Camp Hero.

In November 2007, after being burned by a record deal gone wrong, overloading himself by doing almost all of the band's tour booking and managing, and constantly being broke and on the road, McLin abruptly left Evangelina on a mission to find a better path to success in the music industry. Shortly after, Rodriguez left Evangelina for many of the same reasons. Both had hopes of re-emerging into the the Louisiana music scene with what they had previously started on the side.

Seven months later, Camp Hero came back to life under a new name: VERSANOVA. After finally securing a practice room, the duo once again tried out local musicians on different instruments until securing an experienced lineup they felt could bring unique yet binding qualities to the band. With Rodriguez still on drums and McLin now on guitar and lead vocals, they invited Michael Roy (formerly of Murder On Sunday) to play keyboard, synth, & samples and also Jason "Rook" Dormady (of the Fourth) to play lead guitar.

In November of 2008, after taking all summer to rehearse and write a promising record, Versanova emerged from the practice space and into the Baton Rouge music scene. Utilizing synchronized videography and samples from various media, the band seeks to create an audio/visual experience that is worth seeing live, giving audiences their money's worth every time.

After giving away hundreds of free copies of their self-produced EP entitled "Devils", reviews from listeners have been surprising, even to the band members themselves. People from all points of the listening spectrum have found something that they like about Versanova.

The band expects to record a full-length version of "Devils" early next year and release it independently, supported by shows with local and touring bands passing through the boot state. Versanova hopes to give what seemed to be a lifeless music scene once again something to live for. Stay tuned. It's going to be a hell of a ride.
