It all started in 07 when the boys got tgether in an abandoned sawmill in Idaho. Their love for artists like Hank Williams, Hank Thompson, Johnny Horton, Woodie Guthrie, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and others of the like gives them their musical nourishment. It is the love of this great American music that has become the glue holding The Damphools together and allowing them the priveledge of playing some of the greatest tunes ever written. And the influences of these great American musicians has given them the inspiration to write their own brand of American country music. With songs like "When the Sun hits California" and "Get Gone" the boys tap into that history of tradition and expression without being a novelty act. Their music is honest and heart-felt. The Damphools wear their emotions on their sleeves and ain't afraid to let you know how it is. It is a truly American music that The Damphools strive for.
