Bio:
Founded by Haley Jane members Darren Santos and Toby Slade, The Breakdown combines singer/songwriter depth with pop/punk and alt/rock influences.

Darren Santos is a former member of The Elemenopees, where his punk roots are based. Growing up in Tucson, AZ Slade and Santos spent most of their time playing songs they'd written for each other trying to perfect their art. When Darren left The 'Pees to pursue a new project, Toby recruited him to fill in on bass with Haley Jane... Darren has been feeling in for almost 3 years now.

Continuing to write music for what was intended as a solo project, Darren felt the urge to play these songs out live after receiving positive feedback regarding tracks he had provided for various commercial and entertainment endeavors.

Rounding out the trio with former Good With Grenades drummer Jon Scalise, The Breakdown has started to push their high energy dance/pop/punk/rock style into the Tucson music scene and beyond. Reminiscent of Saves The Day, there is no easy way to describe The Breakdown's exact genre, you just know that it feels good and you can't stop nodding your head.
