The show opened with Whitechapel. it was a good pic for the opener. They played relatively well, the sounds wasn't the greatest though. The Jägermeister stage had bad sound quality, especially for Beyond the Scar. The Black Dahlia Murder put on a great show, and so did Job for a Cowboy, I cant speak for God Forbid or All that Remains, because I did not watch them. Behemoth was my least favorite of all on the Hot Topic stage, they didn't really get the crowd going. Trivium played well but even though they tried, they couldn't get the crowd going that well. Last of the opening bands was Cannibal Corpse, They played well and they were able to put on an alright show, probably because they have been doing this for so long. The inside bands kicked off with Bullet for my Valentine. I missed the beginning of them, but from what I head they played well, although the stage was lame. Killswitch Engage had a better stage and was able to get the crowd going, and a girl to take her top off. they played better than I would have expected. Slayer was one of the best, they had an amazing appearance and despite age, they can still play as well as ever, taking into account Tom losing his singing voice. Last to play was Marilyn Manson, I did not know what to expect of him... actually I expected better. The band played well, but the show he put on wasn't that great, If you could get around all the unholy things he said, it wasn't bad.

So other than some of the most expensive drinks I have ever seen, it was a great show, I would say it was equally good compared to last years. I will be sure to go to the next one, and the next and for how long they keep it going.

the festival as a whole was awesome. i thought bullet for my valentine played the best, but thats my biased opinion since theyre one of my favorite bands. but all the bands played great and it was hard for me to end the night, i wish i was still at mayhem! go next year youll have a great time!
