MAYHEM was fuckin insane!!!!

black tide was alright
the red chord cant wait 2 see them again great performance
36 crazyfist was awesome
underoath was sick
dragonforce made me deaf for 10mins
walls of jericho was crazy she loves her circle pits
disturbed's pits were fuckin insane
but nothin beats slipknot performance the lighting the music the pits just the overall energy they kept the crowd pumped n involed n played new stuff which ruled. basically in a nutshell it was the BEST CONCERT this yr sofar

Great show... Disturbed f'n rocked... Slipknot kicks ass every damn time.... gotta love them, and especially that crazy bastard Sid, crawling around the stage with those damn casts.

Best Day of my fucking life!!!!!!
Mstodon was awesome! I got them perfectly on video and totally rocked with them!!!!!! BUT... they didn't play Sleeping Giant arghhhhhh I bit someone just beacuse of that but still MASTODON FUCKING ROCCKED!
Dragonforce really put on a great performance; the guitarists were running back and forth and the keyboardist man did that dude rocked! I thought he was gonna break in half. Though I'm not much fond of this band, gotta give them credit Good Job Dragonforce Oh and before i forget.... Their songs are tooo fucking lenghty.... I was like COME ON I'm Fucking craving DISTURBED AND SLIPKNOT NOW... but hey it was fun =)I sat all the way in the back and got a perfect view of them....Some dude next to me was screaming out to them how suckish they are LOL it was goddamn hilarious.
Then came DISTURB and man what a fucking show!!! It was GODLT how they played fet down with the sickness and stupify.. I seriously went fucking insane and got the best fucking picture ever of their stage, I'll put it up on myspace. David's voice is fucking orgasmic MY FUCKING GOD i cannot believe i was still sitting in the back when he said How fucking gay of us to sit while they performed for us. "MOTHERFUCKERS IN THE BACK STAND THE FUCK UP, You would not like it if we played like this for you" and he sat on the stage. Fucking sexy I stood up and went to the pit area. It was awesome headbanging next to people who appreciate true music\m/
Last but certainly not least came SLIPKNOT! MY FUCKING GOD that was legendary!!! The feeling is indescribable just seeing Sid being rolled in his wheelchair and seeing my favorite band in the world was fucking orgasmic, I went insane. Corey is God i dont care who the fuck disagrees He performed to us MAGGOTS the greatest show ever, his voice, his mask, his talent AMAZING. I was down in the pit, headbanging my head off, today i woke up and realized i had dislocated my neck but who fucking cares! it was worth it! everything was worth it this fucking band was insane! I got the best picture of Shawn and a bunch of videos.
I couldn't get over it, I was in a trance watching my favorite band in the world performe jsut a few feet away from me, indescribable and unforgettable experience. The maggots were insane, my head almost popped off, ah fuck i wallowed in slipknot ;) Surfacing, Duality, the blister exists, prosthetics, ppl=shit, Psychosocial and fucking SIC!! yes, they didn't play all hope is gone, which was kinda fucked up but hey, PSYCHOSOCIAL was fucking psycho and couldn't ask for anything better. Best show ever, best night in my life whoever did not attend mayhem THEY HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT THEY MISSED and sucks for them. It was worth it. Love the maggots and get your fucking asses out to but ALL HOPE IS GONE 8.26.8
5 stars definitely.

Excellent festival, very well put together and organized, had a great time.

Here's an example of what I mean. Aside from the "dueling stages" idea during the outside portion (= no lame set-change music, because one stage is always active), the show organizers knew exactly which band was the most out-of-genre, namely Airbourne, and scheduled the bike show during their set. Genius!

In any case, highlights (in order of appearance):
Kingdom of Sorrow (surprise!)
Walls of Jericho
Mastodon (I dislike their recorded stuff, but they never disappoint live!)
Machine Head (Should have been mainstage! F**k Dragonforce!)
Slipknot

Disappointments: Disturbed didn't seem to have a lot of energy, they were kinda just dialing it in.
The Red Chord was just noise, I don't know if there was a mixing problem or if that's how they planned it.
36 Crazyfists were as shrill and annoying live as they are canned.

The show was pure awesome!!! I got to meet dragonforce, and the whole band signed my shirt...FREAKING SWEET!!! I really liked Airbourne, Walls of Jericho and 36Crazyfists. Even thought that Black Tide sounded better live than they do on CD, probably because they're a little older now and their voices have matured more.
Personally, Dragonforce and Slipknot made the show for me. Both bands had amazing energy and put on an amazing perfomance. Too bad that many people at the show don't know shit about speed/power metal so they couldn't appreciate Dragonforce as much as I did.
However, Mastodon and Disturbed dissapointed me. The bands didn't really put too much effort into the show. They sounded great, but looked kinda boring. Disturbed had the advantage of the entire stadium singing and headbanging along, but from my perspective, they were the lazies band of the show...the just stood there most of the time and walked from one side of the stage to the other every couple of minutes. I don't really care how clean you play, i can get that on a cd, I wanna see a band go completely ape-shit (like slipknot, wallsofjericho or dragonforce).
But over all: awesome show, awesome fun and awesome sun-burn. Can't wait until next year!

I'm new to the concert scene but this show was incredible. Non stop metal bands, crazy moshing, trash wars between sets, free rockstar energy drinks, moto cross show, crowd surfing, disturbed and slipknot playing live. Honestly I cannot think of a better show unless the whole crowd was nude super models and I was crammed in there, but on a practical level this was the best concert I can think of. Also I caught one of disturbed's guitar pics which made the night even more special.

My first time crowd surfing cannot wait to do it again. I am without a doubt going to this again.

this show fucking rocked. crazy ass bands , free rockstars, insane mosh pits, kids crowd surfing, slipknot put on the most amazing show i've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!
