Rocket Club was started by Matthew Allen and Eric Luke in 2007. What started off as some song ideas Matt had come up with quickly turned into something much bigger. They started recording in Matts one bedroom apartment and by early 2008 they had a handful of rough demos to work with. Matt took a quick break from Rocket Club to go to L.A. and record bass and back up vocals for THE HYPO TWINS but once the record was done he quickly returned to Rocket Club. Rocket Club initially started as a synth pop project, but seeing that the industry is becoming over saturated with dance punk, Matt and Eric decided to try to fill the void, to be the "Anti pop" if you will. So the synths and 808s were dropped, the songs were restructured and then the "If this makes you happy" E.P. was recorded in the fall of 2008. Rocket Club mixes huge drums, layered guitars and Lyrics very reminiscent of the early 2000's alternative scene, all without sounding dated. Shortly after the record was finished being recorded, Drummer GREY SMITH and Guitarist CAMERON RODGERS were added to the band. "We are just happy to be playing music that we love and believe in and we're so excited to share it with who ever wants to hear it."
