The show at toads last night was one of the best yet. The Rev gets better with age. I've been to every Horton Heat show at toads in the last four years. The boys were on fire. The band played old and new, including a small set of 4 cover tunes starting with a Chet Atkins tune, a nice rockabilly ditty, Rock this town by the Stray Cats and parinoid by sabbath. the stage show was full of the usual antics including Jimbo surfin on the bass, Jimbo and Rev playing each others strings, the Rev mounting Jimbos bass for the "Devils chasing me", and the Jimbo sending the bass flying into the air at the end. The band was as tight as usual.
As far as the opening acts went, Wreckless Kelly was OK. Nashville Pussy Kicked ass. I've never seen a chick play the guitar like that. Very impressive. Definatly a five star night.
